On one side this region used to be a rich one. The most famous elector of Saxony and king of Poland Augustus II the strong gathers the biggest part of Dresden Art Collection and also scientists to create gold. Instead of that they discovered the white gold and called it porcelain.
In February 1945 Dresden was bombed and almost nothing left in this city. I will show you a few buildings and parts which persevered. You will never be the same after you see the city and imagine how it looked like after the war.
Dresden is a city of legends and mystery. And of course city of mistresses! Together we will drink the eyes of Countess of Cosel, the most famous one!
We will start our tour by picking you up in your hotel in Prague and transport from Prague to Dresden which will last about 2 hours. Then 2 hours walk in the city center of Dresden. Local lunch in my favorite restaurant Sophienkeller im Taschenbergpalais for one hour is waiting for us. You will also have 1 hour for museum visiting (either Green Vault treasury or Old Masters Gallery). Shopping is also an option. Half on hour coffee break if needed will be just after it. We will be back to Prague by dinner.

Christmas Markets in Dresden

Church of Our Lady
The Dresden Church of Our Lady is a Lutheran church in Dresden. An earlier church building was Catholic until it became Protestant during the Reformation. Built in the 18th century, the church was destroyed in the bombing of Dresden during World War II. The remaining ruins were left for 50 years as a war memorial. The church was reconsecrated in 2005.
Brühl's Terrace is a historic architectural ensemble in Dresden named "The Balcony of Europe". The terrace stretches above the shore of the river Elbe. It is one of the favourite inner-city places of both locals and tourists for walking, people watching, and having a coffee.
Old Masters Gallery
Old Masters Gallery in Dresden displays around 750 paintings from the 15th to the 18th centuries. Outstanding works by German, French and Spanish painters of the period are also among the gallery's attractions. It is possible to walk through the collection within an hour.
The Zwinger is a palace in Dresden built in baroque style and a museum complex that contains the Old Masters Picture Gallery, the Dresden Porcelain Collection and the Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments.
Saxon Switzerland National park is a famous its magical sandstone constrictions. Bastei bridge is the one in the picture.
